Microsoft Student Partner pt. 2

And hello again!

I'm here fresh out of Lisbon and out of my MSP interview. I confess I was a little scared to start with but it is also true that all of the interviewers were very friendly and not scary at all. After being introduced to the whole content of the MSP program, the first question came: "How many tracks does the Olympics swimming pool have?". Fortunately they were kidding when I was told I could not be an MSP since I answered that question incorrectly (I answered 6 and apparently it has 10 tracks) :P .

Other than this I'd say I left a good impression, except the fact that I was nervous, no doubt about that - but I am guessing (and hoping) that that is the case with most MSP interviewees. I like the spirit and the environment and whilst I do not know anything for certain yet, I think I am on the right track for success - more news will follow and I promise I will keep you all posted!

P.S. Don't mind the ugly face on the picture :P there was heavy wind blowing on there.

Microsoft Student Partner

Hello my dear friends and readers in general,

I come here today with a subject of great happiness and ecstasy! I was called in by Microsoft to be «interviewed» for Microsoft's Student Partner Program in Lisbon :D . So on August 13th there I shall go and attempt my best at getting the position. For the first time I will be even entering Microsoft's building so that alone is already stomach-tickling. It's set to be a great experience and I can but hope that I get a position as a MSP.

As my best-friend would say: the plot thickens. ;)

I shall keep news coming on this blog so stay tuned!

Update

Hello again!

I reckon it has been a while since I have last posted on this blog but truth is that times have been busy. As some of the readers know, my birthday was on the August 4th, hence the time away from the blog.

I am also however working on TeddyBearNotes v2 which is still on an early stage. It will also come on two different flavours: your old freeware notes program and a corporate version, with more features and added functionality. So stay tuned!

In the meanwhile, I leave you with a lovely t-shirt I got as a birthday gift this year (thank you Kamilla!).

Isn't it absolutely great? I was thinking, maybe we should plan a trip to Mt. Cheyenne... I cannot wait to meet the Asgard ;)

'Till the next time! *hums the Stargate tune*

Google Code Jam part 1

It is with much sorrow that I write this post because unfortunately, I did not pass on the first round of Google Code Jam :( a real shame. The opinion is shared though: many other people were complaining about how cryptic the problem descriptions were and that was so. The genius heads at Google are more likely probing our mind reading capabilities, rather than our skill at programming algorithms.

Am I the only one to disagree that on a competition called "Google Code Jam" we are to be tested on our mathematical skills? I mean, for God's sake, programming is not (just) about maths! There is so much more to it. One thing I can tell you all: I am going to try my luck tomorrow, but certainly not going to apply for the 2009 version of the competition.

I am done with the headaches for no end-game at all. And now.... Stargate Atlantis time, the true joy of life ;)
